Week 5

This week started with a field trip to Mr. Julien's favorite teacher's studio. We go a lot of good advice there and she made some good comments on our work. I think the main thing that I took away was to really try and design the spread even with the restrictions that are set. Right now I have a clean and safe layout that doesn't really take any risks. This is kind of how the client wants it, but I think I can push the issue a little bit.

I have made some revisions to the layout at this point and will be posting them a little later.

Week 4

This week we presented our layouts to Joyce the publisher. We put our work up on the pull down screen and we all took turns explaining our projects and our ideas. I was the first person to go and that probably didn't work out that well for me because of the excitement of the whole presentation. I felt that Joyce became more comfortable as the presentations went on and it seems that she was giving more critical feedback. She essentially said that she liked mine with a couple of changes that she wanted me to make. They were mostly technical, like using different pictures. One specific comment she made was that she thought that the pictures that I used were making a color scheme. This, however, is something that is easily changed and will be be mostly determined by the photo shoot.
